Overview of program/Therapeutic model: Long term care with emphasis on structured family living. Child best suited for program: Normal IQ an dphysical characteristics. Do not accept boys in need of treatment. Types of referrals accepted: Deprived, INS, Delinquent Authority required for admission: Yes Admission procedure: 1. Application 2. Personal interview with boy and parents. 3. Evaluation of school records, medical reports, psychological records. 4. Birth certificate 5. Social Security number. 6. Court order or parental placement agreement. Average time for admission: 1 to 10 days, depending on availability or required info. Requirements of child: Must agree to come to Westview and abide by the rules. Normal and average intelligence. No record of severe drug or alcohol abuse. No record of violence toward persons. Requirements of parents/guardians: Agree to placement of child. Pre-admission interview. Contribute to child's support as able. Reinforce Westview's program with child. Requirements of placing agency: Psychological data as available, custody order to Westview. Mandatory admission requirements: Intake assessment Supplemental information desired: Any information available to help understand child and his problems. Visitation policies: Thirty day waiting period before initial visit. After adjustment period, no restrictions on calls or visits. Notify administration of all intended visits on-campus. We encourage contract with family by phone or mail. Three holdicays off-campus each year. Released after conference wiht parent or guardian. Other services provided by Westview Boys' Home: A. Counseling: Yes, State Health Department and SW OK Mental Health Services, Counselor on campus.
B. Education: Public school off campus. Some private tutoring. Program to help wiht college education.
C. Vocational: Agriculture and 4-H, FFA, School Shop activities.
D. Medical: Red Cross training, First Aid/ CPR
E. Recreational: Swimming, horseback riding, bike riding, fishing, hunting, hiking, camp outs, etc. School Sports.
